Simply put, Vuforia destroys everything else.

It's striking how much better it is in terms of detecting and tracking markers. It also does cylindrical, cubic and arbitrary 3d markers which open up a whole world.

If only they let us upload directly to ARIS....

I think we found the bug. When you type a scaling factor into Vuforia, if you type 500 is works great.

We will try to update this to be 1 (as I hoped) in a future beta release, but if you want to give it a try, you can see AR working right now with that magic value.

I'm having trouble seeing the Augmented Tab while I'm testing out my game. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling...is there a step I'm missing? Suggestions?

Two possible problems:

1. You need to use the Test Flight version of ARIS. @djgagnon can get you on the list of beta testers. Are you on the beta version of the app?
2. You need to actively put the AR tab into a game using the beta editor at https://arisgames.org/beta-editor

I was finally able to retest this today, using 500 for the scale factor and it works great now! I'm getting video and sound. This is very cool and exciting.

@chrish Thank you so much! I'm already using the beta editor but missed the step about using the Test Flight version of ARIS to use the beta version of the app.

I've been having trouble uploading the zip file. The progress meter goes to 100 fast enough, but then nothing changes. If I manually exit (click outside the modal dialogue, hit cancel, save, or the little x), I find that there are no available targets when trying to set the AR trigger up.

Similar to Chris, when I try to upload it goes to 100 quickly, but hangs up.

Also, though, my downloaded database from Vuforia isn't a .zip file. I just get a folder with a .xml and a .dat file inside. Neither of these individually uploads to ARIS. I made the folder into a .zip file, and that is when I get same symptoms as Chris.

How strange, I definitely get a zip file. Maybe this depends on which dev. platform you choose when downloading? My zip does have that stuff in it though.
