Thanks for the timely feedback. 2.3.1 was submitted to Apple last night and you may have seen that a "iPad 2x mode" switch has been added to game settings.

You should see a notification when it is ready for testing.

This is so much better for iPads...thank you!

Testing notes:

Testing on a first gen iPad mini - running iOS 9.3.5 (latest iOS this model iPad will support)

Intro plaque is still really small.

2x looks great for all other plaques

Quests icons look great in icon mode but quest title text gets a little cut off on the bottom. For example, a quest titled "Pray Pray Pray" looks like "Prav Prav Prav".

Title of "Decoder" page is still really small, as is the "Enter Code" text where the cursor is, and the text the user types is small. So, it looks like the decoder hasn't gotten the 2x treatment?

"Quest Completed" alert box - the two lines of text in the alert box overlap. It's ok, but definitely squished.

Top banner notifications look good
Menu looks good

Map icon text looks great.

Map icons are pretty small, but ok.

Conversation titles are very small at the top

Arrow to continue conversations are very small - almost miss them if you don't know to look for them.

"Player" section (where you can see your picture and player attributes) is very small

Inventory looks great

Notebook seems to work and look great

In testing 2.3.1 in the default mode (not 2x) the only thing we are seeing that is troublesome right now is the external web pages we link to are enlarged. We would like the content to sites outside of ARIS to be the default iPad resolution.

Here is an example of a website we link to from our scneario:
https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/d ... 62f90b5bbe

I attached to files, one is this website as seen from safari browser on the iPad,
the other is the website as seen trhough the ARIS app web object.

Thanks. 2.3.1 must not be disabling 2x mode for webpages correctly. We will investigate on Monday.

Hello,

We continue our testing, mostly with default (not 2x) mode on the iPad Air. Overall the testing is going well.

Using 2.3.1 in the non 2x mode...It seems to me that the quest icons in the graphical quest display are still showing small. That and the external website objects being enlarged in the non-2x mode are the only things we have noticed that affect our scnearios.

Regarding the 2x setting for legacy games...I notice that setting a legacy game to the 2x mode has no effect on how the game renders in the ARIS App 2.2.4. That is good for us because we can go ahead and set all our previously published games to the 2x mode, and when the user's app updates, it will show it in 2x mode for the 2.3.1 app right away.

Thank you for all the work ARIS is doing regarding this app update. We are forging ahead with our iPad targeted styling and the media and images are looking very good.

2.3.2 is in Apple Review for Test Flight and should be out end of day tomorrow.

It properly switches between normal and 2x mode for websites.

If everything looks good, this will be our next app store release.

We have received test flight notification and have done a bunch of testing.

Things are looking very good. External web pages in non2x mode are looking great.

2 things we did notice...
1. quest icons in non2x mode are still as small as they were in 2.2.2, (this is not a big issue for us but just letting you know)
2. We notice while testing that when we switch a game back and forth between 2x and non 2x, that we have to force close the app in the game in order to see the change take effect. So whatever mode the game was last being used in will stick until it is force closed and restarted. (again, this is sort of an artificial circumstance that probably will not occur often, if at all, for our users)

So, we are happy with this version and give our blessing if you, and other developers are happy with it too. Thank you so much for addressing these issues!

How is testing going? Will there be an app store release soon?

It is available in the App Store right now! I posted to the announcements forum but should have also posted here.
