Plaque vs. Conversation

Hi All,

Can anyone explain their rationale/justification for using plaques instead of conversations?

It seems that everything one might want to do with a plaque, you could also do with a conversation.

For example, the manual says "An interesting feature of plaques is that they can modify the player when viewed, giving or taking items and attributes." - but I believe you can also do this within a conversation...

If you were trying to explain to a new ARIS designer in which situations they should use a plaque instead of using a conversation, what would you say?

Good question! For me, plaques are very simple to imagine and edit. If I have no need for decision making or other complex interactions I use plaques. There are also differences in the screen layout. Plaques have their image or media at the top and then any text below. Conversations try to fill the screen with the image and later the text over the lower portion, like a portrait and dialog sitting atop. There are other small differences but that’s the major ones.
