    Counting Objects in Inventory

    by danaab » Wed Mar 15, 2017 3:00 pm

So, I'd like to trigger a plaque when there are 5 objects in the inventory. Trouble is, most of these objects will be picked up from the map using factory spawning. How do I get the game to count how many items have been picked up? I understand how to make a "hidden" item and use it as the generic counter when giving items through a plaque, but what about when they are picked up from the map?

    Thanks!

I haven't actually done this since tags have been reimplemented in ARIS 2 but the way I would do this in ARIS 1 (and it looks like everything is there in the editor) is to give the relevant items the same tag, then have the relevant lock be "player has # of items with tag".

Thank you, Chris! Perfect. I just wasn't aware/didn't think of that because I had never done that before. That will work beautifully! Yay!

    Thanks,

Nice to see you back again btw. Looks like you're uncovering some rough edges and I'll see what I can do to help.
